Fred Durst Was Kyle Mooney’s First Choice For Y2K
“He’s so evocative of that time period that when we found out the movie was going, he was the first person we reached out to.”
Screen Rant : Fred Durst is perfect in this movie . What was it like getting him to sign on ?
Kyle Mooney : He truly is a dream come true that I never really knew was a dream in some way . We , Evan who I write it with , we commence pitching on this in 2019 and within a calendar week of coming up with what this movie was going to be , Fred was something that we thought would be really fun . We thought about anyone else who could fill up that role and nobody checked the box like Fred does and did .
He ’s so iconic to the era . He ’s so resonant of that sentence period that when we feel out the movie was going , he was the first person we reached out to and thank god he was down because he rightfully is so proficient in the movie . It was really incredible to see on set and be like , Okay well , we ’re fine . He ’s crush it . It was such a pleasance .

Jeaden Martell Says Fred Durst “Shared Some Wisdom” With The Y2K Cast
“It was cool to see that he was sort of looking out.”
Screen Rant : What was it like working with him ?
Jaeden Martell : Wow , he was awesome . He was so genial . He ’s a really great actor . I watched him in , I image The television incandescence , and he ’s great . He was very genial . He shared some sapience with us and was very reliable with us about everything . It was cool to see that he was sort of look out . He set about when he was on the older side , too . That ’s not relevant , but he was a little bit older than the other guys in Limp Bizkit , plainly . I intend he was already late XX . But he ws looking out for us and it feel very loving . He was awing . He was nifty .
Julian Dennison : I really did n’t get to work with him . I did n’t get to converge him during shooting . I encounter him afterwards . Seems like a endearing guy . Gutted that I did n’t get to flash with him .
Kyle Mooney, Jaeden Martell & Julian Dennison Do Not Feel Confident About Their Chances In A Technology Uprising
“I think in any sort of uprising, I don’t think I’d do well.”
Screen Rant : How do you think you would do in a engineering uprising ?
Kyle Mooney : I think loosely , badly . I think in any sort of rebellion , I do n’t suppose I ’d do well . My impression is , any type of uprising , probably not . I finger like I will do okay initially . I think I ’ll find some sort of hiding smirch . I ’ll figure my matter out .
Julian Dennison : You ’re a beginner now as well , so I sense like you have good instincts now .
Kyle Mooney : Yeah , thanks . But I do think that over metre something , some monster , will catch my olfactory property or something like that . I feel like I ’m not give-up the ghost to be serious .
Jaeden Martell : I feel that way too . Well , I feel like I would last for a bit and then my whole thing is I would just get the flu or I ’d step on a nail . It would be pathetic .
Julian Dennison : Yeah . I ’d kind of trip and then seek to get back up and not be capable to get back . I ’d be like , just take me . They ’d kind of be take care at me and be like , oh gentleman’s gentleman .
Danny’s Death Is The Catalyst Eli Needed To Evolve In Y2K
“I am really excited by extreme left turns, and I’m excited by audience reactions.”
Screen Rant : What was the thought process behind wipe out someone who is sure to be a rooter favourite , Danny , and especially so early in the film ?
Kyle Mooney : It was something that was baked into the deoxyribonucleic acid of the movie from the initial pitch . We did n’t know we ’d have the Julian Dennison bringing this character to aliveness at that point . But I think of , I wrote it with my champion Evan , but I got to talk for myself . I am really excited by extreme left turn , and I ’m charge up by hearing reactions .
I really liked the idea of hoi polloi going into this not knowing what they were going to get and being like , oh my God , I did n’t see that happen . The movie itself is that , good ? It opens as one thing and then becomes an entirely unlike picture show .
It also felt like just such a great catalyst for our story to stretch out and for Eli ’s character to acquire . I ’d like to think we got to carry on Danny ’s intent throughout the whole thing , but yeah , it was a big choice . I do suppose some people will not like it . That ’s the realism .
Screen Rant : Was it sad for you to be taken out so early ?
Julian Dennison : It was sad , but I remember watching it for the first sentence and it was really special to see how , I do n’t have a go at it , it ’s weird saying they honored Danny in a unearthly way , but it ’s gracious . What Kyle said , just his spirit kind of acquit on .
