ScreenRant : What was the inspiration behind Wallace & Gromit : Vengeance Most Fowl ?
Nick Park : Yeah , it was very much about the dearest involvement that we have with tech these days , what we think it ’s for , and it lends itself so much to comedy . I mean , how often am I using my nomadic phone and with autocorrect , who needs it ? It just never do up with the sentence that you ’re after or the Holy Writ you ’re after .
Merlin Crossingham : It ’s very much an observation on our trust on technology , and what ’s the correspondence ? What really makes things better in our lives ? And if we ’re honest , what does n’t ? What ’s the proportion to be had there ?

Ben Whitehead Could Always Do A Great Mimic Of Wallace
“Ben sort of became Peter’s understudy, which was great for everybody.”
ScreenRant : Can you mouth about the changeover to Ben Whitehead as the part of Wallace after the unfortunate passing of Peter Sallis ?
Nick Park : I mean , obviously , very pitiful to recede Peter , of course . He was Wallace , and so who could inhabit up to that ? But we were very blame that Ben really figure the chassis while Peter was still around , on Curse of the Were - Rabbit . He was playing a background actor and got to cognise Peter , and we discovered he could do a very good mimicker of Wallace .

“We have used it in the past in most of our films, but not to such a great extent, mainly because it’s not looked good.”
ScreenRant : How do you make the decisiveness of when to utilize the traditional claymation stop - motion animation , and when to bring in the advancement in technology ?
Nick Park : At basis tier , we endeavor to keep as much in front of the television camera as we can . material poser , material Henry Clay with different stuff , but clay for all the expressive act . That ’s part of the ethos of it .
Merlin Crossingham : That ’s the heart and soul of it really . And from there , if we ca n’t make a shot in front of the camera with the real puppets , then we involve the question , OK , so what ’s the solution ? Is it shooting another set and compositing it in , maybe using a blue or a green screen instal technology , or is it for a visual force ?

Do we need to lean into calculator engender imagery for particle gist like water or smoke or steam ? matter that are really very challenging to do with any sophistication in stop motility . That ’s been really , really life-sustaining to the whole process .
