ScreenRant : First of all , this film is unbelievable . I ’m a hugeLord of the Ringsfan , and this sense like it fits right in . Gaia , can you share your first encounter with Tolkien ’s work as a child ? What aspect of theLord of the Ringsresonate with you deep or lead you to rewatch it multiple clip ?
Gaia Wise : Oh gosh . I interpret The Hobbit and then name the films . It ’s the fact that the films speak to the human condition in every agency , and there are beautiful human connectedness within all of the films . The characters are wonderful , and the beauty of Tolkien is that even though it ’s a fantasy world , it feels incredibly human . That ’s why they ’re so rewatchable ; because there are aspects of it that jibe into our life .
I call back the first time I find out the films , I just [ want ] to be Éowyn . Seeing those when you ’re a child , and I hope now having another female theatrical role – particularly a protagonist in this that ’s the hero , adding to the traditional knowledge of the woman and the traditional knowledge of the Shieldmaidens – was very exciting . She ’s just unbelievable ; the coolest .

Laurence Ubong Williams : You begin with this sense of duty to one ’s own kindred , and that tribalism is just part of the human narration . difference of opinion tend to start when territories are encroach upon , and tribes go to warfare , but there ’s also the sentience of loyalty to one ’s own family , and those thing are always screen in real life sentence .
But what we ’ve set up in the last 24 - 48 hr , having been enclose in the story of The War of the Rohirrim , is that there ’s another pertinent [ element ] here and a prophetical one – as Brian Cox said to begin with – about charwoman . There are moments in this film where women finally have their moment , not just to do what want to be done but to get recognition for it . When man are forced to , quite truly , finally listen to our Sister and what good can come from that .

ScreenRant : Gaia , when you first translate the handwriting for this motion picture , what element made you feel emotionally connect to the story and your grapheme , Héra ?
Gaia Wise : It ’s such a rich write up . The script is so beautiful . It was very much about a woman ’s articulation , or a young fille ’s interpreter , that is silenced at the beginning of the motion-picture show and is finally heard . That ’s when things start to turn around . It , to me , very much mirrored Éowyn ’s “ I am no man ” in The Return of the King . It ’s my favorite moment .
[ Héra ’s ] such a three - dimensional character . There ’s so much move on there . What I love most about her was that she was countenance to be vulnerable . Her vulnerability is a source of her strength because it allow her to remain compassionate and true to her moral and values , and not be overtaken by ire and fear like Wulf .
ScreenRant : Lawrence , your character go through inner difference of opinion and sail family stress . Can you spill the beans about the balance between loyalty to Rohan and his disagreement with King Helm ?
Laurence Ubong Williams : That is the conflict I find in person , as Laurence , to be something I could not relate to . If I were so assured of myself that what I believed was the good affair to do or the good course of action was this matter that I was advocating , and then someone disagree with me , I ’m going to get quite hotheaded .
But he has this sentience of duty and award to himself , the code of conduct , and the chain of program line that he has to obey , and he has a degree of nobility that I now find myself look up to . I think , “ Wow , you could wait for your clock time . You have to be patient . You have to be stoic when you demand to be , and finally , you ’ll have prison term to do the correct matter for the masses you love . ” And , of course , he does .
Gaia Wise : Yeah , the catchword for men should just be , “ Be more like Fréaláf . ”
