After years of rumors about a potential Netflix series or even a picture , Marvel ’s teen heroesCloak & Daggerare at last getting the alive - action treatment . Revolving around the story of two teens who gain powers after being abduct by a mad scientist , Cloak & Dagger tight become inseparable and commence not only a romanticist relationship , but a crime fighting duo . The serial , which is set to begin filming subsequently this monthalong withThe Runaways , will air on Freeform sometime in 2018 most in all likelihood .
Recently , we learned who at leastone of the directors of the serial would be , and know thatHeroesproducer Joe Polaski will be serving as showrunner . We also learned two week ago thatAubrey Joseph and Olivia Holt would be playing the leads , Tyrone Johnson and Tandy Bowen . With a start to output properly around the box , we now know some of the other actors who will be filling out the show ’s ensemble .

Andrea Roth(Rescue Me ) as Melissa Bowen , Tandy ’s mother , " who is the eternal optimist despite the conflict to adapt to her new existence . While complex and emotionally composed , her dearest for her girl sting bright . "
