Amanda Waller went all - out attempt to rein in the DC Universe ’s heroes during Absolute Power and almost succeeded . Thanks to a team of Amazos , Waller was able to debilitate the powers of nearly every metahuman on the planet . But the Cuban sandwich rallied and triumphed over her , destroying the Amazos in the outgrowth . This gave the heroes their power back , but in the process , some heroes accidentally swapped powers ( Fire and Ice , for deterrent example , ended up trading abilities ) while others ' power went to innocent civilians . To battle this , the Atoms formed the Atom Project , wrapped on retort every hero to normal .

But beneath all the smiles and jokes is a man who had no option but to master his powers . If he had n’t learned the ends and outs of his pliability , there ’s a good probability he may have had no choice but to be the same goopy mess that Phantom Girl became when she was cursed with his power . He might care cracking wise , but theJustice League’sPlastic Man overcome something most could n’t even imagine .
