Paramorehas been one of my favored bands for the retiring 15 + years , and yet 2024 still bring off to surprise me when it comes to one of their songs . Even among the band ’s slow or more typically make a motion number , I ’d lean towards things like “ The Only elision , ” “ detest To See Your Heart Break , ” or “ 26 . ” As much as I played Paramore ’s self - style album over and over and over again when it released back in 2013 , “ Last Hope , ” the 8th track , never stood out to me . I even find out them play it live at Reading in 2014 and still did n’t find it remarkable . But , obviously , I was vernal and foolish .

Swift may have been the principal event , but Paramore alone would ’ve been enough . It ’s the performance of “ Last Hope ” that really bear out from their circle , even among big , more crowd - pleasing hits like “ Misery Business ” and “ Ai n’t It Fun . ”

I ’ve listened to the birdsong a hell of a lot since then and learned to appreciate the album version so much more than I ever had before , butthe live version from 2024 is the best matter , by far , I ’ve listen Paramore do . That ’s not something I say thinly , given I ’ve seen them hold out 5 - 6 clip , and liked if not roll in the hay everything they ’ve put out record album - wise .
Paramore ’s live carrying out as a whole sense better now than ever before ( and they ’ve always been good ) , with a real tightness between Williams , Zac Farro , and Taylor York ; the energy Williams play is as phenomenal as her vocal music , specially in the libertine Book of Numbers . But it ’s “ Last Hope ” I ’ll long think . It was more than just a spark , and certainly more than enough .
