Screen Rant : It ’s amazing thatArcherhas gone on as longas it has .
H. Jon Benjamin : That almost sound like an vilification .
Oh no , no , no . I love the show .
H. Jon Benjamin : No , I got you , just kidding . [ Chuckles ] Yeah , I have in mind , I am , too . It ’s reasonably shocking .
How does it feel to be coming into season 13 , which is like to some a lucky issue , some unlucky ?
H. Jon Benjamin : That ’s true , I ’m not superstitious , but I do feel something might happen right now . I do n’t get it on , it ’s like an old pelage , now , Archer is comfortable . But in the root of the show , everybody involved in the shows are always disturbed that it ’s not going to go on . So , early in the liveliness of the show , I ’m sure they were more and more surprised , like , " Wow , this is [ still go ] . " But to build such a pursual , it ’s great that it keep .
What was your first reaction when you sawthe scripts for season 13 ?
H. Jon Benjamin : Well , they sort of mete them out , you get the playscript for the show pretty much every , like , once a calendar month . So they ’re always in production , essentially , so you do n’t really do n’t see the whole season until [ the end ] .
They used to give me a call at the root of the time of year and sort of meet me in on the time of year electric arc , or what Archer ’s up to or what everybody ’s doing , specially during the coma seasons . Maybe that started around time of year Five , with Archer : Vice when they did more thematic material , but now , they just stop calling . [ Chuckling ] They do n’t really tell me anything , and you just get handed the first scripts and then it ’s off to the backwash .
Do you prefer that surprise of script by script , or do you care lie with the bow ahead of time ?
H. Jon Benjamin : Well , the principal eminence I always get as Archer , even when the serial publication did those cryptical dives into dreamscapes clobber , Archer and everybody involved , the entourage , they somewhat much stay the same . I think the only time [ they change ] was maybeChris Parnell played a Naziand did a German accent . But on the whole , everybody ’s active stay the same , so that ’s sort of the project at script every time of year . Just get quick to be the a—-le that Archer is for eight episodes .
Well , in that sense , though , we have seen some development from him over the years . The preceding couple of seasons , we ’ve see him try and repair his relationship with Lana . Is there hopefully more of that this season ?
H. Jon Benjamin : Yeah , Archer ’s fairly much two steps forward , one step back , one step forward , two steps back , you bed . Now , patently , with the loss of Mallory , I think there ’s some aroused investment in that , even for the role . Mallory is run and the whole gang has lost their reach . She was n’t the best compass , but she was a compass .
Since you do advert Mallory , I just caught up with season 12 the other day and that finale just stop me for the rest of the daybreak .
H. Jon Benjamin : Yeah , that was great .
How did it feel come intothis time of year without Jessica Walterfor the first time ?
H. Jon Benjamin : You jazz , the show sort of thread in her going , a small scrap , but I recollect in a fair way . Archer still has to stick around focused on being a bunch of crazy people who kind of love / hate each other , and the show has to continue almost in her honor , but they did a really safe job .

But yeah , I believe that the show is going to touch this season on feel her loss , and what they do without her . She ’s now being supplant by the variety of corporate heavyweight , they have to divvy up with that .

H. Jon Benjamin : Well , you know , for Archer and everybody , they ’re gon na f – k it up . [ Laughs ]
Speaking of the future , this is a show where Adam Reed stepped down as showrunner in time of year 10 . Is there a roadmap for how foresighted everybody skip the show will keep go ?
H. Jon Benjamin : For me , at this item , I do n’t want to be crass , but it ’s a moderately easy line , my part . So , it ’s really up to the producers of the show , who do the majority of the oeuvre , and the writer .
Like you said , Adam has leave the show , but they ’ve found really outstanding alternate author for him , he was hard to substitute and wrote the intact first 10 season of the show himself . But I do n’t know , I think just based on these character interacting , another 40 years ? I mean , I will be long gone , but my hope is the show continues for a while . I mean as long as they keep the writing sweet , they ’re fun case to catch .

I ’ve been reading about it here and there , so I ’m peculiar , what are your thoughts on anArchermovie , specially construe as you ’re just coming off ofThe Bob ’s Burgers Moviefinally beautify our screen ?
H. Jon Benjamin : Yeah , I guess the gauntlet ’s been thrown with Bob ’s Burgers , right ? The challenge has been thrown , it ’s up to Archer now . I think there ’s always talk about it , I think people , certainly fan at Comic - Con , always ask me and I do recall a movie is something like a incentive for fans . It ’s just overnice to see the show you do it get this cinematic treatment , I remember they could do it .
Like I said , again , it ’s up to the the great unwashed who launch the show . There was talk about it being alive - action , and I just do n’t think I could pull that off at my weight . I think I can match Archer perhaps drinking , but somewhat much nothing else . [ Chuckles ]
