This is an origin story , and Tandy and Tyrone have only just discovered their mysterious ability . That means explanations are in short supply .
Making matter even more complicated , Cloak & Daggerhas distinctly rewritten the heroes ' origin story . Tandy and Tyrone seem to have been colligate from birth , with some sort of mystical bond making them a " divine conjugation . " Quite what that mean is currently unsettled , but it ’s a far cry from their comic ledger descent , where the two advance superintendent - great power after unwillingly take aim a unsafe drug .

Dagger’s Powers

Again , there ’s a ghostly ingredient to this major power ; where Dagger ’s abilities are redemptive , Cloak ’s are corrupting , and only Dagger ’s light can keep his searing thirstiness for souls at bay .

The Marvel TV adaptation of Cloak does n’t yet seem to be quite so powerful as the comic ledger version . It ’s clear he can generate darkness , but he does n’t actually seem to becomposedof it ; his powers also seem to work through any cloak or even a tarp . It ’s not promiscuous to say whether or not Cloak is in reality tie to the Darkforce in the MCU , but it would be no surprise to find oneself that he is . The idea of the Darkforce was introduced inAgents of S.H.I.E.L.D.season 1 , in the instalment ' The Only Light in the Darkness . ' It then played a major persona inAgent Carterseason 2 , where Isodyne Energy was endeavor to tap into it . Crucially , Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.season 4 included throwaway dialogue that Isodyne had been buy byRoxxon , a company that will playact a major function inCloak & Dagger . So it looks probable that the Darkforce will figure into this somehow .
It ’s significant to remember that the series has only just begun , mean Tandy and Tyrone have only just begin to learn how their world power work . As the serial progresses , no doubt we ’ll see them try out with their abilities and determine to control them . It ’s also reasonable to assume their tv set origins - which look to be rather more occult than drug - bear on - will be explored in particular greater detail in later episode .
