ScreenRant : I ’m so thrilled to chaffer with you , Sara . I have been a foresighted - time buff of yours , true , but alsoa Brobdingnagian fan ofBased on a True Story . I just know this show so much . So what about this show and your character really pull you to want to be a part of this weird and tempestuous world ?
Sara Paxton : Well , I sleep with the show , and I binged all of season 1 , so I was really excited to be a part of season 2 . I am a true - criminal offense junkie . I have a go at it mystery , I love thriller , and I love sorry , witty body fluid , as well . So , the fact that the show commingle all those writing style together , the show is sartor - made for me to be a rooter of . I did n’t know anything about my character , though , when I auditioned , and they only gave me a Sir Frederick Handley Page of dialogue . It was very basic dialogue , nothing that crazy . And I was like , " Well , I like this show , so I ’m happy to be a part of it in any elbow room that I can , " when I auditioned . And , of course , it became so much more , but I did n’t make out anything about that .

Sara Paxton : That first walk in reveal moment was so much fun . Filming that whole episode was so much fun , because I had just watched — true , it ’s not me , it ’s my stunt double , doing summersault and stabbing and rip spraying on the window . And I was like , " Wow , I ’m a bada– , that ’s so cool . " [ Laughs ] So that sort of fed into my walk - in reveal , and it was just so exciting . I ’ve never act a case that ’s — mayhap one other time — a villain like this , and so I just wanted to really go for it and have so much play , because I feel like a lot of the roles that I ’ve played in the past times are either the victim of a killing or I ’m the mean girl . That ’s a scoundrel , but not like this , so that was really so much fun .
As a big fan ofThe Innkeepers , it felt like a complete somersaulting of that , which I jazz . Obviously , you being the ape killer is not reveal until the very end of the season , and we see you in other episodes with a more reserved personality . What is it like walk that line in the operation ? Did you know , when perform those scenery , that you were eventually go to reveal yourself as this big scenery - chewing slayer , or did you approach those scenes not do it that ?
Sara Paxton : I think that the producers and the theatre director of my episodes really manage it absolutely , because , like I said , when I auditioned , I only had a page of talks , and it had nothing to do with who the character would become . And I just thought , " Oh , it ’s a one - episode , minor character , that ’s fine . " And then , when I got on set and I finished hit those scenes , everyone kind of gathered stave and Jaclyn and Anu [ Valia ] , and I remember Alex Buono , the other director of the other episodes , and Annie . They were like , " Okay , we can tell you , there ’s more to your fibre . " I was like , " Oh , okay , what ’s go on ? "

So ab initio , to answer your head , I did n’t think about it at all , because I shot those scene not even experience where my character would go . But then , move forward , I conceive they helped me detect that balance of it ’s there , but not too telling . My character is really overwrought about the slaying of her sister , so you could chalk up any emotions or wrath to that , and not anything else . So they help me take the air that parentage .

He fell into her gob , and now is the instant that she ’s probably been reckon for a long metre . And I wo n’t say — well , really , I do n’t know where my character is survive to go . I ’m just as excited as the consultation to hopefully find out .
Is there anything you would like to see , particularly if we do get that time of year 3 greenish luminosity ?
Sara Paxton : I ’ve thought about a million things , but I sense like it would be kind of interesting if they teamed up . But I do n’t know , the audience will have to follow the show and organize their own supposition on what ’s coming .
It would be really interesting to see her and Matt squad up and find a way of life to forgive each other . It would be an interesting character development .
Sara Paxton : I remember so , too . It kind of gives me Pulp Fiction in the diner vibes .

Sara Paxton : Yes , I do have a sneaky cameo in weapon , as well . And I have seen it , and it ’s really , really good . So , I think people will be thrilled to finally see it when it comes out .
